Kristan Alves’ choice of yellow for her wedding day seemed suited to her bright, effervescent personality. After meeting with Kristin, I envisioned Kristan’s dream wedding to include a combination of bright and bold, coupled with tender romance.
The ceremony took place at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Willows. A candle garden nestled among softly draping greens stretched the length of the pulpit behind the altar. Focal designs of yellow snapdragons provided a beautiful embrace as the couple exchanged vows. Guests were greeted with cheer as they entered the reception hall, which included an opulent display of yellow snapdragons, roses and lilies, complimented by white dendrobium orchids, stock and hydrangea. The guest book was situated in the entryway, which had been draped in black with a white chiffon drape. A custom-made glass panel, imprinted with the newlywed couple’s name “Perry,” hung with honor. Floral designers created an impressive entry display from a Manzanita branch, which draped like a willow over the guest book. Soft plumosa garland hung above the floor to ceiling windows, and the head table was crisp and brilliant with shimmering glassware and yellow napkins. The ceremony florals were moved to flank the head table.
The cake took center stage, and was proudly displayed beneath a Tuscan gazebo covered with hanging amaranthus and wisteria blossoms. Towering above the buffet was a masterfully crafted tree of curly willow branches, accented with hanging amaranthus, roses and plumosa.
Bright and bold – tenderly romantic … Kristin’s “Day-Dream” came true.
