Jake and Sara

Sara and Jake’s guest list included over 500 of their closest friends and family, making it necessary to rent a hall at the fairgrounds to house the crowd. Challenges come in many forms, and at first glance, a fairground venue seemed a bit overwhelming! But, with a little imagination and a lot of work, we were able to overcome what seemed like the impossible! With over 8,000 square feet to design and decorate, we had plenty of room to spread out. An tented entry was created inside roll-up doors. A forested lining of curly willow was carried out not only in the entry, but behind the head table as well. Uplighting created mysterious patterns on the tent ceiling as guests entered at dusk, and hanging votive candles were like a goodbye kiss as guests departed.

The hall was draped with gossamer and lights above the guest tables, and clusters of Chinese lanterns were like moons hovering over the dance floor and lounge. Ribbon streamers adorned with crystal beads dropped from the centermost lanterns in wind chime fashion. Amenities included two bars, complete with a lounge for guests to relax and visit with friends and an outdoor “smoker’s lounge.”
